Green, green, green …

With every day it feels more like spring and summer are here for good now – my nose got its first sunburn of the year! 😀

As mentioned before, the absolute spring color for me is green. So that’s the color that can be found all over the apartment… 🙂

One might think that candles in the bathroom are unnecessary
as we don’t have a bathtub and therefore no romantic baths…

… but who says you that folding laundry can’t be romantic either? 😉

Catchin’ up!

After my Easter posts I just didn’t make it for another post, for some good reasons… First of all, my to-do-list after the Easter weekend felt endless. And second, I went to Vienna for a 4 days holiday 🙂

Back to normal life today I’ve realized that I missed out on three of my photo posts about how wonderful life is (including the one that is yet to come this week). As I got up at 4 this morning I’m not gonna start catching up on those blog posts.

But I’ll keep with this post’s title – catchin’ up. That was one of the main reasons for my holidays in Vienna. Meet friends, have hour long brunches, sort out some childhood memory stuff that is left at my old apartment, attend a friend’s graduation (congrats again, I can’t say it too often!!), check out what has changed in the city. I didn’t take a lot of pictures in Vienna. The weather was too grey and too uäääh to keep fingers outside of pockets. And then I also have quite a lot of Vienna pictures already, haven’t I?

However, two things really touched my heart. And of those I took pictures. Continue reading

Livet är underbart #5

This week’s photo post goes to my brother and his great passion – surfing! And when I talk about surfing, I do not mean windsurfing but surfing waves 😉

When I think back to our childhood, I can not even remember a time when he didn’t surf (or talk/read/dream about it, as we do not really have ocean in Austria, so surfing is a bit tricky). He started off with one of those awful styrofoam bodyboards you buy for kids during summer-beach-holidays when we spent our summers in Spain. After some summers with those boards, he insisted on buying a real surfboard. I remember it being really hard to get one in Austria and then to transport it to Spain. However, once the board made it to Spain he basically didn’t come out of the water anymore 🙂 And then the whole surfing took its course… he turned out to be really good at it, without ever taking a surfing course. That happened only quite late and it ended up with becoming Austria’s youngest official Surf Instructor ever – not that I wanna brag with my brother but I think it’s pretty cool! Continue reading

But now it’s really time for Spring…

After my last post – so one and a half weeks ago, time passes so fast – I escaped the cold, grey, wintery weather here in Sweden and took a plane to Spain. Yes. I enjoyed a whole week of Spanish Spring and it was amazing.

Warm, beach, sunny, sea. Blooming flowers, green grass. Being outside without five layers of clothes.

Don’t get the wrong idea – it was far from really hot summer weather and no, we did not take a swim in the sea. For that it is definitely too early. But it was amazing to feel the sun on the skin, to sit outside in the restaurants, to see the nature waking up. It was perfect for recharging my batteries and filling up my body with sun. Spring Preparations

One of my favorite swedish interior-decoration-design brands is Village. I bought a lot of this year’s Christmas decoration there as I left most of mine back home in Austria when moving to Sweden. And every single cookie box, Christmas tree ball or table cloth I bought there turned out to be a really good buy and made me and Christmas time even more special.

Now, when I cleaned up my wallet yesterday I discovered that I have a -20% voucher from Village left, that I got as a Thank You for one of my decoration shopping. Lucky me! And as it happens, the voucher is only valid until end of January. Which basically means that I should really go to the local store this week and make sure I do not waste those precious -20%, right? 😉  Continue reading
