Green, green, green …

With every day it feels more like spring and summer are here for good now – my nose got its first sunburn of the year! 😀

As mentioned before, the absolute spring color for me is green. So that’s the color that can be found all over the apartment… 🙂

One might think that candles in the bathroom are unnecessary
as we don’t have a bathtub and therefore no romantic baths…

… but who says you that folding laundry can’t be romantic either? 😉

Spice up your life!

Today we had dinner in the city and we were not sitting INSIDE the restaurant but OUTSIDE – first time this year! And it felt amazing 🙂 spring is so wonderful! It’s amazing how bright and light it is outside. These days the sun rises a bit after 5am and sets around 9pm – it surprises and confuses me again every day 😉

As every season, spring is great for decoration. However, apart from my spring-prep post I haven’t shared any of the “springness” here. As I’m slowly getting back to my usual energy level after the first weeks of new job, I hereby announce some spring-posts-to-come-this-week 😉

An absolute must have during spring and summer are herbs. I do not have a very green thumb so I’m not a big fan of buying more than two pots of basil in the supermarket (which I’ll usually throw away after two weeks because they just didn’t want to be with me and my not-green-thumb 😉 ). This year it’s different – we went to a real garden center and bought five (!!) different herbs and are really putting effort into them: not only when it comes to the right amount of water and the perfect place but also the decoration 🙂 Continue reading

Let’s start the holidays!

Today evening we officially start into this year’s Easter Holiday – one more reason to go over the top with spring decorations!

We will spend it at home, fixing stuff in the apartment, relax after all our visitors, enjoy the spring in the air and do some Easter stuff 😉

In order to get into the right mood already before this short holiday, I did some decoration last week: 2 Easter Trees 🙂 It turned out to be two of them as I took my Austrian Easter Tree decoration with me when moving to Sweden, so I wanted to use it. And then I also wanted to have a Swedish Easter Tree.

In Austria, we put colored egg shells on our Easter Trees 🙂

It’s shopping time!

Finally!! I talked about a secret project already in one of last week’s blog post and yes, it took longer than expected to get it all going and ready to be talked about…

The last few days and weeks my sewing machine and I were really busy with all the creativity and the ideas – and today it’s FINALLY time to make the big announcement: the online shop of sachensucherin has officially opened 🙂

Sewing is great. And very useful – because there is all kinds of pretty things you can use for yourself. But at some point this personal needs are satisfied. I don’t need 10 place settings. Or 5 sleeping masks. That’s why I’ve decided to sell my handmade products in an own online shop. Continue reading

The other kind of charity …

This is one post I’ve wanted to write weeks ago already. But I’ve been so busy with real life stuff that it skipped my mind. Luckily, I got reminded about it today when I read another article about it on an Austrian news site. And although I’ve loads of work to do this week and I’ve this one project coming up – about which I hope to be able to tell you by the end of the week, until then psssst! it’s a secret – I’ll write about it now.

It’s about the Life Ball 2013 – a huge charity charity event in Vienna for people with HIV or AIDS, organized by Gery Keszler and his team. The first Life Ball took place in 1993, so exactly 20 years ago. Back then it was a really small event – today it is the biggest charity event in Europe with HIV/AIDS background. It’s known internationally, the guests come from all over the world, united for one thing: fighting against AIDS. But – it’s not one of those boring charity events you might think of now, with people standing around, sipping drinks and eating canapés, waiting for a half-known show act and donating on their way out of the door. No. Not at all. It’s a party. A big, glamorous, amazing, day-and-night-and-day long, touching, inspiring, strong party. Continue reading
